DVDs for my Son: Tuesday Toot!

My Tuesday Toot for this week is I bought my son two more DVDs ($5.50 each...not bad): A Muppets Movie and Bob the Builder ("Yes I Can!") Sorry, have heard the Bob song a million times already! :-) I could have done without the Muppets movie. He likes Bob the Builder better...so do I. I think the Muppets are more for older kids and adults. We'll just put it away for now. Maybe I can swap it on SwapADVD.com !

Also excited about a thought I had: To purchase a portable DVD player for our LONG flight ahead this summer. I have been wondering what to get to keep my son busy on a 7+ hour flight! Layovers and short flights, I am not as concerned. Any suggestions? He is 2 1/2. DVDs will keep him entertained but for just so long you know.

My daughter got a great little toy for Christmas from her grandmother-its a small Leap Frog, hand held device. Although she is 5- I bet your son could do the drawing, coloring and other activities- and they probably have games for 2-3 year olds. We plan on bringing it on our plane trip this summer...

Great price on those DVD's!!! I'm not a lot of help but we travel a lot to see family with two kids, 9 and 4. we have a portable dvd with two screens so they can both see in the car. We even got some adapter so the older one can play gamecube and she can watch her dvd's. Barney is what kept her happy the longest time. She also loved Madagascar, Cars. It made for happier trips, especially when I'd make the trip as the solo adult. Best wishes!

I definitely have a new appreciation for the Muppets now that I'm older (I love them even more now) but being an 80's baby, I loved them as a child. I have two cute Muppet stories. My first memory is of me standing in my crib, crying because my parents wouldn't let me stay up and watch "The Muppet Show." I remember whining "I want to see Miss Piggy, Mommy." The other is about my love for Kermit the Frog. My grandfather's name was Kermit, and he died when I was two. For some reason or another, I had it in my little mind that Papaw Kermit & Kermit the Frog were connected. "Kermy" is still my favorite!

I love the muppets too! I remember my favorite was The Muppets take Manhattan! I loved that one, and saw it in the Theater! How funny is that? :-)

The one I got for my son is "The Muppets from Space!" The jokes, etc...are too much for my son, but in a few years he will enjoy it I am certain!

That is a great story about your Grandpa! Great Memories!

I remember loving the Muppet show when I was little - now I want one for me - lol. The portable DVD player idea is great - we have one and it keeps the kids busy in car trips and such - I got mine for free when I signed up for Direct TV.
