How to Save Money When Enrolling in Online Courses (sponsored post)

There are hundreds of thousands of subjects that you might be interested in learning more about throughout your years but post secondary education can be too expensive for many people. With the ability to save money on your online courses, you can put the extra funds towards bills or into a savings account to take a trip in the future. Below are just a few ways that you can save money when enrolling in online courses.

1. Online Learning Resources

Websites like www.Udemy.com are great for giving students the ability to learn about various subjects without having to deal with the hefty price tag of regular university or college courses. These websites have an extensive catalog of courses ranging from computer programming to English as a second language and you can pay a small fee to get access to as many courses as you want. They are also incredibly convenient as you can access them from any device that you own. All you have to do is search for the subject that you might be interested in and then enroll. The one thing to remember is that they do not contribute to a degree or a diploma as they are simply for personal enjoyment. You can also find regular Udemy discounts online that can get you enrolled for $9-$19 per course.

2. Do the Research

If you’re looking for online courses for a university or a college, be sure to do a sufficient amount of research on the different schools that you can qualify for. If you’re a student that wants a degree from a specific post secondary institution you can usually sign up for classes through them and then take a certain amount of other classes from another university or college. The credits that you earn from both institutions will be applied to your grade and this can be beneficial if you notice that another school is offering courses for less than your base school. Though you must take note of the total amount of credits that you are allowed to carry over.

3. General Bursaries and Grants

Above all, take the time to apply for general bursaries through your school and any grants that may be offered from federally funded programs. These are specifically designed to give college and university students the ability to get the money that they need for school without having to pay the total amount back as you would with a loan. Make sure that you read through the requirements and qualifications for grants and bursaries as you may not be eligible to apply depending on your total income or the income of your parents.
